Background: Sony Mony Electronics is an independent film studio and electronics dealer, according to Bloomberg, founded in 1995 in Mumbai, India. The name is an obvious pun on the Japanese electronics and entertainment conglomerate Sony, also one of the most popular entertainment distribution companies in India. "Sony Mony" is an inherently funny phrase, a form of shm-reduplication.
