Logo descriptions byWellmart3

1st Logo
(1975?-????)

Note: The logo appears at 5:07

Logo: On a grayish-white, we see a red triangular shield with a yellowish-white film reel and "LW" in the script font. There is also Chinese translation of "LO WEI MOTION PICTURE CO., LTD." which is above it and the English translation is arched.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: A majestic fanfare.

Availability: Extremely rare. Possibly appeared on first few films.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo
(1970's?-????)

Lo Wei Motion Picture Co, Ltd. (2nd Logo)Nicknames: "The Chinese LW", "Glass LW"

Logo: On a glass background pretty unlike Shaw Brothers', we see an outlined designed "LW", the red Chinese text, and the English translation "LO WEI MOTION PICTURE CO. PRESENTS". It's possibly hard to see the dot in "CO." because the glass is wet and that's on the screen.

FX/SFX: None; same as the previous logo.

Music/Sounds: Same as before.

Availability: Very rare.

Editor's Note: None.

3rd Logo
(Early 1980's-198?)

Nicknames: "Red LW", "Whoosh LW of Doom", "Sparkly LW of Doom", "The Sparkly Logo From Hong Kong", "Keep Sparkling!", "The Chinese LW II"

Logo: On a black background, a white (or bluish-white, depending on the film deterioration) trail of the "LW" from before, but more abstract, is close up. It zooms out and turns the logo is formed, filled red. It glows, the red Chinese text and the English translation in white appear letter-by-letter, and they all sparkle.

Variant: There also exists a duplicated variant, but the only difference in this variant is that the logo stay is 5 seconds longer.

FX/SFX: Cheap Scanimate effects.

Music/Sounds: A whoosh at first, then an ascending dramatic synthesizer. There is also a second variant, where it uses a more less scary bombastic fanfare.

Availability: Rare.

Editor's Note: The whoosh is loud, the synth is also too bombastic, and the overused sparkling is also creepy with the added darkness, so it would scare many people.

4th Logo
(198?-1988)

Lo Wei Motion Picture Co, Ltd. (1980s)Nicknames: "The Chinese LW III", "Golden Chinese LW"

Logo: On a blue/black space background, a light is seen in the center. It grows bigger and bigger before flashing, leaving behind an outline of the "LW" from before. The outline moves to the left with a trail that also moves to the left and flashes again, turning it gold. The "LW" shines twice and the Mandarin translation appears one by one in cyan, with "LO WEI MOTION PICTURE COMPANY LIMITED" zooming out with a cyan light trail.

FX/SFX: The flashes and zooming.

Music/Sounds: A deep whooshing synth, followed by descending bells when the logo shines, then a bombastic fanfare (the same one from the KPM library, which is also used on other Chinese logos such as Champion Film, The 1st Cyclo Video logo, the 2nd Video Communications Inc closing logo, and the 1st Gold Key Entertainment logo).

Availability: Uncommon, seen on their last films.

Editor's Note: The creepy sounds and first half would catch someone off-guard. But, this is much brighter and the sounds are less scary in the logo above.

Here is a logo history of the company, except with the 1st logo and the 3rd logo's second fanfare.
