Logo descriptions by SeanMchal (Sean M.)

1st Logo (1980s-1990s?)
Logo: We start on a deep blue/black gradient background. A pad of line-paper spins slowly and zooms in to fill the screen, and when we finally zoom in close, a 2D-drawn hand appears from the right of the screen and writes "Family Films" in a cursive rainbow-color font with a brown paintbrush (reminiscent in a way of the 1991 Family Home Entertainment logo). The lines on the paper fade away and the name is seen on a white rectangle with one line remaining in the middle. The logo sparkles a few times and "presents" appears on the right below in white, while the background is now gray.
FX/Cheesy Factor: The paper zooming in and the hand writing the name with a paintbrush. Well, this logo is kind of silly and unoriginal, and the gradient background looks primitive. The hand and paintbrush looks like it was done in traditional cel-animation, and so do the lines on the paper once it zooms in close.
Music/Sounds: An ascending wind flute-type sound combined with a loud "whoosh" sound, and ends with a synth orchestra/horn jingle. The music begins when the warning scroll before this logo fades out.
Availability: Seen on two videos of holiday cartoons released in the 70s: Easter Is and Christmas Is.
Scare Factor: Low to medium. The animation and music can surprise a few people, especially if seeing it for the first time.
