1st (known) Logo
(1987-199?)
WHRO-TV (1989)
Nickname: "The Ribbons"

Logo: On a blue/black gradient background, we see the words "WHRO" in an odd futuristic font, with the R connecting with the 1 in the number 15 sitting next to the letters. All those letters are in chrome. The words "HAMPTON/NORFOLK" are chyroned in above. Below, a white ribbon brings forth a red ribbon reading "TV Worth Watching" in a cursive font.

FX: The ribbons.

Cheesy Factor: The ribbon animations look very primitive.

Music/Sounds: A female voice singing "WHRO", then a saxophone stinger.

Availability: Extinct, only used as a "you're watching" local ID.

Scare Factor: None.

From 1998-sometime in the '00's,they had a local ID that featured this gigantic sea green"whro tv15"logo and had the Compacta & Times fonts. It also had the 2nd jingle from the 1996 Public TV For East Tennessee ident too(a beautiful african-style tune w/ flutes, cellos, choir & piano). That needs to be put on this page.
