Background: Ghost Corps was founded within Sony Pictures Entertainment in March 2015 as a brand of Columbia Pictures to oversee the Ghostbusters franchise. Among its founders were Ivan Reitman (director of the original 1984 film Ghostbusters) and Dan Aykroyd (actor who played Ray Stantz in 1984's Ghostbusters and 1989's Ghostbusters II). So far, their only confirmed projects are the 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters and an animated television show entitled Ghostbusters: Ecto Force which will be co-produced by Sony Pictures Animation and was set for an early 2018 release, however it was postponed to prioritize development on a Ghostbusters animated feature. In January 2019, a new Ghostbusters film was announced, set to be directed by Reitman's son Jason and set in the same universe as the original. It is scheduled for release in 2020.
