Background: Rainbow Entertainment was an Australian low-budget VHS/DVD distributor that is best known for releasing Hanna-Barbera content in the 90s. It is not known when it went out of business, but the company does not release any more DVDs. This company is not to be confused with Rainbow Releasing.

1st Logo
(1990's)
Rainbow Entertainment (Australia) - CLG Wiki

Logo: On a slowly zooming space background, we see a spinning cube with rainbow patterns on each of its sides. A golden parallelogram with "RAINBOW" in a connected letter font (a la Lorimar) emerges slowly from the bottom of the screen and positions itself below the spinning cube. The parallelogram shines before the logo fades to black.

Trivia: Besides distributing videos, Rainbow also manufactured VHS boxes for Australian labels like Roadshow, Warner Bros, and CIC-Taft Video.

FX/SFX: The zooming background, spinning cube, and shining.

Music/Sounds: A snippet of "Electric Rain" by Craig Palmer (off the album Technology Age), which is a synthesized percussion tune with chimes.

Availability: It was associated with Southern Star and Hanna-Barbera releases in Australia, so it might be on some of those tapes. Also seen on My Little Pony: The Movie.

Editor's Note: TBA

2nd Logo
(late 90s-early 2000s)

Rainbow EntertainmentLogo: On a white background we see a rainbow disc. Inside it is the "RAINBOW" parallelogram from the previous logo. Underneath is the word "ENTERTAINMENT"

FX/SFX: None, unless you count the direct fading from the copyright warning.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen on early DVD releases by the company like the Monty Python series and movies.

Editor's Note: TBA.

3rd Logo
(mid 2000s)

Rainbow Entertainment (Australia) - CLG WikiLogo: On a black background, we see a golden parallelogram with "RAINBOW" on it (same design as the previous logo) fade in. A circle with a rainbow pattern opens up behind the parallelogram like an eye while a very blurry "ENTERTAINMENT" in black with white outlines zooms out below the parallelogram, slowly increasing its focus. The top of the parallelogram shines, and the circle turns around like a 2-D image.

FX/SFX: The shining, zooming out, and focus increasing.

Music/Sounds: A tune sounding similar to the Sony Computer Entertainment logo before fading to the jungle/drum n' bass/neuro drum loop at the low volume.

Availability: Seen on several Aussie PAL DVD releases.

Editor's Note: TBA.
