Background: Hollywood Pictures Home Entertainment (formerly "Hollywood Pictures Home Video") was the home entertainment arm of Hollywood Pictures that was established in 1990 to distribute all of the company's releases on video.

Nicknames: "The Sphinx", "The Egyptian Sphinx"

Logo: Same as its film counterpart, but with "HOME VIDEO" (later "HOME ENTERTAINMENT") added below and the three lines below the sphinx are shorter to fit the width of "HOLLYWOOD PICTURES". Also, it's videotaped.

  • On the 2002 VHS reissue of Tombstone (released to coincide with the film's DVD release), the words "HOME ENTERTAINMENT" are smaller and are arranged the same as on the Home Video variant.
  • On some British releases, the word "PRESENTS" in blue and in Optima font appears below the logo.

FX/SFX: Same as its film counterpart.

Music/Sounds: Same fanfare as its film counterpart.

Availability: Uncommon. Seen on Hollywood Pictures releases on VHS in the 1990s such as Super Mario Bros., Tombstone, The Rock, White Squall, among others. The Home Entertainment variant can also be seen on some DVDs, some being even released when the film company was shut down. The first videos from the label like Arachnophobia and Taking Care of Business had no proper disclaimer and just went straight to the previews.
