Logo: On a black background, we see a white flash appear. We see nine lines appear out of the flash, four of the lines are blue, four are purple, and one is red. The lines spread out a little distance. when the lines finish spreading apart, the words "H I F I Stereo" appear above and below the logo, respectively.

FX/SFX: The white flash appearing, the lines spreading apart, and the words "H I F I Stereo" appearing.

Music/Sounds: A reversed cymbal crash, then an echoing whoosh, along with LFE vibrations and a microphone feedback in the end.

Availability: Seen on most Sony Pictures VHS tapes of TV shows, as well as some movies released by the company on VHS (mainly pre-1990's films from companies other than Columbia Pictures and Tristar Pictures). Examples for this logo include Bear in the Big Blue House, The Muppet Movie, Dragon Tales, The Indian in the Cupboard, The Nuttiest Nutcracker, the demo VHS of Kermit's Swamp Years (before the 2001 CTHE logo) and The Berenstain Bears (2003 version).
