1st Logo
(January 3, 1989 - May 27, 1994)

Nickname
: "Woof Woof"

Logo
: On a black background (with a purple stripe), the words "ARSENIO HALL" are in large capital letters, with "COMMUNICATIONS" in a smaller white font on
Arsenio Hall Communications
the bottom of the screen. The word "HALL" takes up most of the screen, and it is in dark blue, while "ARSENIO" (in light blue) is much smaller, and it is near the top of the screen. The words "ARSENIO HALL" have an orange line under them.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: Two arrangements of the Arsenio Hall Show theme music. The first one featuring the outro of the theme. The second one was the first four bars of the jazzy tune (composed by Hall himself), followed by Arsenio Hall shouting heavily "Woof Woof," (dog bark åla the infamous "Dog Pound" section of his studio audience, which cheered to Arsenio's signature expression while swinging their fists in the air). Though the theme music's arrangement changed with the show's opening titles, this ID remained the same throughout the run.

Music/Sound Variant
: On the short-lived 1991 music program The Party Machine with Nia Peeples, the sounder had Nia going "Arf! Arf!" in place of Arsenio.

Availability: Rare. It was originally seen on The Arsenio Hall Show and The Party Machine. Arsenio Jams (edited versions of The Arsenio Hall Show that used to air occasionally on VH1) kept this logo intact. Also appeared on Time Out: The Truth About HIV, AIDS and You on VHS.

Editor's Note: Arsenio's "barking" may catch somebody off-guard, but is generally considered to be a humorous logo.

2nd Logo
(September 9, 2013 - May 21, 2014)

Nickname: "Woof Woof 2.0"

Logo: Same as the previous logo, but now we see the new "
ARSENIO" logo type face with a silhouette of Arsenio Hall in the "A."
Arsenio Hall Communications (2013)
FX/SFX: None.

Variant: On one earlier episode, there was an alternate logo where there's Arsenio's signature in a pink-red color (this same signature is also seen at the start of the opening credits of his original talk show in 1989 but in a blue color) on a dark black background. As the signature finishes writing itself, a half blue/half purple backdrop gradually fills the background and the barking sound plays and the Arsenio Hall Communications logo (in a much different font) fades in below.

Music/Sounds: A five-note guitar riff, followed by an actual sound of a barking dog. In the earliest taped episodes of the new series, a drum beat, accompanied by a single guitar riff note is played followed by the barking dog sound.

Music/Sound Variant: On the September 11th, 2013 episode of the newly-revived Arsenio Hall Show, the logo was silent due to a 10-second commemorative silence for the 9/11 victims who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001. The other logos seen after this one, including the CBS Television Distribution logo, were in silence as well. On the April 6, 2014 episode, there was a brief moment of silence and then applause due to a mini-tribute to the death of Mickey Rooney who died on that day.

Availability: Seen on the 2013 revival of The Arsenio Hall Show.

Editor's Note: None.
