Background: Wilshire Court Productions, Inc. was a
made-for-TV movie production division of Paramount Television (now "CBS Television Studios") established in 1989 in partnership with the USA Networks that produced TV movies for USA and its sister channel Sci-Fi Channel (now "Syfy") launched in 1992, and later for all the MTV networks.

(May 31, 1989-August 24, 2003)

Nickname: "The Abstract W-Trapezoid"

Logo: On a black background, white and green inverted trapezoid's represented by five lines that decrease in size below slide in from the left and right sides of the screen respectively and stop in the middle slightly intersecting each other while the silver text "WILSHIRE COURT PRODUCTIONS" zooms beneath the trapezoid's.

Trivia: The name of the company comes from a side street in Los Angeles.

Variants:
  • Another version used trapezoid's with more touched up graphics.
  • Depending on the source, the green trapezoid was changed to turquoise.
  • In later years, the registered trademark symbol fades in next to the "PRODUCTIONS" text.
  • On S1-S2 episodes of Sightings, the logo was set on top of the screen with a copyright stamp for Paramount Pictures (later for Wilshire Court Productions) below. Sometimes, this had no animation.

FX/SFX: The sliding of the trapezoid's, the movement of the text, the registered trademark symbol fading in.

Music/Sounds: An orchestral tune mixed with a peaceful piano theme or the closing theme of the TV movie. In most cases, it's silent. The Sightings variant had the tail end of the Sather Gate Productions music.

Availability: Rare. Last retained on old VHS releases of TV movies released by the company such as The Haunting of Sarah Hardy, Wheels of Terror, Trilogy of Terror II, Nightmare on the 13th Floor, Through the Eyes of a Killer, Blackmail, Meteorites!, and the two Bloodhounds movies to name a few, with the Paramount Domestic Television logo of the era following suit as well as season 1-2 episodes of Sightings.

Editor's Note: None.
