Logo descriptions by MariluHennerArtist45 and Lizz Tetlow

Background: WTCI is a PBS affiliate located Chattanooga, Tennessee. It was first formed in March 1970, around the last stages of the NET network, similar to KPTS in Wichita, Kansas.

1st (known) Logo
(1995-2000)

Logo: On a computer-generated backdrop of a sunset complete with a melon-colored horizon, a blue sky and a lake, we see a periwinkle glass rectangle fly out from the left and then it settles upwards (sort of like in the CBS/Fox Video "Stairways/Bleachers" logo). On it are the letters "WTCI" in the Times font. Then, the rectangle shines and disappears, leaving the "WTCI" letters, which turn an eggplant color as an oil scribble of a rainbow zooms in underneath and "TV 45" appears on it . Then as the logo shines, the words "YOUR FAVORITE PUBLIC TELEVISION STATION" appears underneath all that.

FX/SFX: TBA.

Music/Sounds: A calm flute/piano/oboe version of the first few bars to PBS' "Just Watch Us Now" stinger. A male announcer says "You're watching WTCI TV 45, your favorite public television station. Serving for Chattanooga, Cleveland, and Athens". Sometimes, the last 2 cities are rephrased as "Walden and South Pittsburgh".

Availability: Seen as a local ID, though, without announcer, may have been used as a national program header.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo
(1996-1998)

Nickname: "Spin Again On WTCI!"

Logo: On a periwinkle-tinted backdrop of bubbles, we see a giant yellow rhombus that reads, "Spin again on" in a purple Impress font with the WTCI logo (the letters "WTCI" in a white Times font with "TV 45" and a rainbow-colored oil scribble below that and "CHATTANOOGA" under the whole thing in the Johnston font) below it. On the corners of the rhombus are the PBS P-Heads in purple. Taking up most of the background is a folded board game, colored red with a big green "flash"-like graphic on it and "GAME" in a dark red futuristic font on it.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: Only a male announcer who says, "This is WTCI, Chattanooga". Sometimes, it's silent.

Availability: Extinct. Used as a local ID.

Editor's Note: None.

3rd Logo
(2006-present)

WTCI logo (2016)
Nickname: "Stealth on WTCI"

Logo: On a dark background, nothing is shown, then, part of the screen lights up, showing part of the WTCI logo. This "light" moves, illuminating other parts of the logo before fading away.

FX/SFX: The light shining on the WTCI logo, the fading away.

Music/Sounds: None

Availability: Currently used.
