Background: WCET is a PBS affiliate located in Cincinnati, Ohio.
1st Logo
(1976-1990)
Nicknames: "Cincinnati Life", "Disney Rip-Off", "Life Around Cincinnati"
Logo: Against a black background, "Cincinnati", in red letters, comes in from the right one-by-one with light trails behind them. Then, from the dot of the first I, four video screens zoom in, which have video clips playing that show various goings-on throughout Cincinnati. Then, the screens slide away to each corner of the screen with little red, blue, and yellow lights flashing in their wake to show the words
in a golden yellow color on the same background from before. "WCET-TV" glows brightly.
Some of the video clips include:
Music/Sounds: An uplifting orchestra tune led by violins, which sounds like something off an old Disney Channel ID (hence the 2nd nickname).
Availability: Extremely rare/near extinction. Was seen on Lillias! Yoga and You episodes from this era.
Editor's Note: Some may be bothered by the light effects, but this logo has great animation and music.
2nd Logo
(1991-1997)
Nickname: "The Paddle Steamer"
Logo: We see "WCET", outlined in purplish-pink (and I believe in a font similar to KCET's), over "Cincinnati", zooming in over an image of a paddle steamer at night.
FX/SFX: The zoom-in. Not even close to as impressive as the previous logo.
Music/Sounds: None. Using the previous logo's music (or even a synth tune!) would've been cool.
Availability: See above.
Editor's Note: None. It's just boring, even more boring than the latest one.
