Logo descriptions by SnowflakesOmega

Background: Showtime Movie Channels was an Australian pay-TV movie service that was available on the Foxtel, Optus and Austar TV platforms. It was owned by the Premium Movie Partnership (PMP), a joint venture in which Sony Pictures Entertainment, NBCUniversal, Viacom, News Corporation and Liberty Global had equal shares. Foxtel took over managing and producing the Showtime channels as of 31 October 2012, with it purchasing assets of the PMP. On 9 December 2012, it has been announced that Foxtel will be replacing the Movie Network and Showtime services with a new line-up of Foxtel-branded movie channels called Foxtel Movies.

1st Logo
(2007-2009)

Logo: On a black background red trails of the word "SHOWTIME" slide in from left to right and bring up a shining Showtime logo. "ORIGINAL PRESENTATION" in white wipes in below, then glow with white rays.

Variant: Since 2008, "AUSTRALIA" fades in below the "SHOWTIME" wordmark.

FX/SFX: The trails, the shining, the wiping in. Simple but effective.

Music/Sounds: A 3-note orchestral theme, based off the last notes of the Showtime theme of the time.

Availability: TBA

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo
(2009-2012)

Logo: On a red light background, a red square logo with a curved line cut-out zooms out of view. Streaks then change the whole background to white. The square logo then slides to the left, and brings up the words "showtime" and "AUSTRALIA", as "ORIGINAL PRESENTATION" fades in below the logo.

FX/SFX: The logo zooming out and sliding, the streaks changing the background.

Music/Sounds: A light swoosh, followed by a 2-note bright synth.

Availability: TBA

Editor's Note: Overall it's an OK logo, but the result looks nowhere as professional as the previous one was.
