Background: Genki was founded on October 16, 1990 by Hiroshi Hamagaki and Tomo Kimura who left Sega Enterprises Ltd to form the company. They are best known for making the Shutokou Battle series, more commonly known in the west as Tokyo Xtreme Racer (or Tokyo Highway Challenge).


1st Logo
(1994-199?)

Genki (1994)Logo: On a black background, we see a crudely drawn representation of a smiling face. Below the face, there's the word "GeNKi", stylized by paper cuts.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen on Burning Soldier for the 3DO. May also appear on early games by them.

2nd Logo

Genki (1999)Logo: On a black background, we see a yellow square. Inside this square, a crudely drawn representation of a smiling face is seen. Below the face is the word "Genki" in an Arial font. Below the yellow square is a copyright date.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen on all Genki games made since the late 90s. Some examples include Tokyo Xtreme Racer on the Dreamcast (including its sequels and spinoffs), and Jade Cocoon for the PS1.
