Background: GSN Originals was first known as Game Show Originals in 1996 by Game Show Network to produce original series. On March 15, 2004, it was renamed to GSN Originals.

1st Logo
(1996-1997)
GSN Originals 1997

Nickname: "Winnie"

Logo: We have the Game Show Network "Winnie" logo on a lavender marble background and a text below reading: "This has been a Game Show Network ORIGINAL PRODUCTION".

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: The end title theme of the show carries over into the logo.

Availability: Extinct. It's seen on Game TV on Game Show Network.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo
(1997)

Logo
: On the same background as the last logo, the Game Show print logo of that time zooms and spins outwords. While this is going on, the word "originals" is seen on the bottom of the screen. After the print logo stops zooming and spinning, it fades out (presumably).

Variant: Sometimes, the logo is still.

FX/SFX: The simple zooming and spinning. None for the still variant.

Music/Sounds: The end theme from the show carries over into the logo.

Availability: Extinct.

Editor's Note: None.

3rd Logo
(1997-1998)

NOTE: The logo capture shown here may not be complete, as the orignal video cuts-in to this logo.

Nickname: "Game Show Circles"

Logo: It starts out with a Blue/Pink swirl. It zooms out to reveal the Game Show print logo from the time. The letter for the words "ORIGINALS" appear from the top right and slide down underneath the Game Show logo. While this is going on, multiple color circleszoom in the Background. The swirl also turns into differentcolors during the animation. The logo then fades out.

FX/SFX: The swirl, zooming, sliding, and color changing effects.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme for the show.

Availability: Extinct.

Editor's Note: None.

4th Logo
(1998-1999)

Nickname: "Spinning Tiles"

Logo: On a hot magenta/Mexican pink gradient shade background, we have two light orange diamond-like shapes that are rotating around. The diamond on
GSN Originals 1998B
the left rotates clockwise, while the other diamond next to it rotates counter-clockwise. Behind the two orange rotating diamonds is a larger light pink rotating diamond that's rotating clockwise. In front of the diamonds, we see the Game Show Network tiles logo spinning with the green ball jumping down, sliding off the screen and flies off to the right. The ball would fly in from the left bringing in the "ORIGINALS" text and bounce on the name to make its way back on the logo.

FX/SFX: The tiles spinning, with the green ball jumping down, sliding off the screen, with the "
ORIGINALS" text.

Music/Sounds: A upbeat music cue, which was used on the networks' IDs at the time.

Availability: Extinct. It was seen on Faux Pause.

Editor's Note: None.

5th Logo
(1999-2004)
GSO-Bob Boden 2002-2004Game Show Originals: 1997-2004GSN Originals Distribution: 2000-2003

Nickname: "The Steel Atom"

Logo: Like the station ID of the time, but with "originals" in white with a black outline dissolving in underneath.

Variants:
  • The phrase "distributed by" was seen above on the upper left-hand corner on the logo only on Hollywood Showdown.
  • Before this logo animates, there's some text saying:

SR. VP PROGRAMMING
GAME SHOW NETWORK
Bob Boden

FX/SFX: Same as the 1997 network ID but with "originals" dissolving in underneath.

Music/Sounds: A synth guitar theme based on the 1997 Game Show Network logo.

Availability: Extinct. This would plaster older Game Show Originals logos.
  • This was seen on Whammy! The All New Press Your Luck, Russian Roulette, and Friend or Foe, among other series that had this logo.
  • The distributor logo was last seen on reruns of Hollywood Showdown on TV Guide Network.

Editor's Note: None.

Nicknames: "GSN Machine", "GSN Block", "GSN Factory"

Logo: On a light blue background, we see the GSN logo from the time. Then, the logo opens up to reveal a blue colored factory, with gears, and a bunch of green blocks on a conveyor belt. A bunch of presses with a letter carved in each of them land on each of the green blocks to form the letters in "ORIGINAL". We cut back to the GSN logo. The logo opens up, and "ORIGINAL" jumps out of the logo, flips, and lands on the logo.

Variant: There is a variant where the word "ORIGINAL" doesn't flip once it jumps out of the logo.

FX/SFX: The movement of the gears, blocks, and the presses, as well as the GSN logo. Pretty good CGI for the time.

Trivia: Along with the other IDs, this was done at V12.

Music/Sounds: Factory noises are heard throughout. When "ORIGINAL" jumps out, we hear a whoosh, creaking, and a one-note tune. A female announcer says "GSN" with another female announcer saying "nya-la".

Music/Sounds Variant: Sometimes, the one-note tune isn't heard and there is no female announcer.

Availability: Extinct.
This was last seen before original programming such as Whammy! The All New Press Your Luck, Russian Roulette, Extreme Dodgeball, and Video Game Invasion: The History of a Global Obsession.
