There was an ident now discarded that was used at the end of the Newshour from 1995-1997 I beleve and other programs used from 1989-1997.(such as Mathnet)

Alternative PBS ID

Nickname: The Pink and Purple PBS alternative ID, The blurried P-head

Logo: it's start out blurry, then become clear as you can see the purple P-head.

FX: If you stare intently at the middle of the screen, you can see a purple P-head

Music: Same as the fourth logo. A bell string tune, followed by an announcer who says "This is PBS.". The announcer is said to be Liam Neeson

Availability: Appeared on older prints of PBS shows produced from either 1989-1998, it may appear on Mathnet Seasons 4-5 videos but it could be plastered by the 4th PBS ID

Scare Factor: Median

I have that, originally it was posted to YouTube but all blurred. If you want I can give you the link to the clear one.
