It was never the logo that unnerved me, but that super-obnoxious synth music. That ranks right up there with the Screen Gems "Fanfare Of Doom" for me. Still, I can see that logo scarifying anyone. As for Viacom, I like the first one, with the music that sounds like a pinball machine.

I have not seen the V of Doom, but have seen the V of Steel on our "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! - The Complete Series" DVD. Addition to OhBoy!"s threadExcept me. I love that timpani drumbeat and zoom-in so much, that I call it the V of Greatness or the V of Fake Doom! Do you find this valuable? |

Hmm...that could be the reason that they made that logo and music so over-the top. It definitely gives it an air of grandeur (or, as George Carlin might say, DIG ME!). Still, my favorite remains the original logo with that wacky pinball machine music.

"That's right. This logo is the most horrible of the world. This logo scared me when i was a little child. Actually, i have seen on "I Love Lucy" and "The Untouchables" when they are aired on TV."The Untouchables? How did Viacom end up with that show? It's considered a post-1960 Desilu show, and Paramount should have been the distributor from 1967 onward (until 2006 of course) Do you find this valuable? |

I must be one of the few people who ALWAYS liked the VOD, music and all. Even when I was realllllly young. No, of the two Public Enemies #1 in the logo world, it was the SFH that always did me in :-) Another note on TZ on Sci-Fi (or SyFy, or Sigh Thigh, or Si Fye, or whatever they're using to avoid being genre-isolated...will they still be showing TZ, BTW?). On some eps. that have the 1994 Viacom logo, if you can listen really carefully between the end of the end credits and the logo...you can hear a certain "scary" timpani-and-synth jingle still in place... Do you find this valuable? |

I also liked the music for the V of Doom; especially the rare extended version (The green logo where the V actually stops) with the extra drum beats added at the end.

Well, for the first time in 10-11 years I saw the V of Doom on television. Add me to the list of those (lucky?) few who witnessed the logo on "The Honeymooners" on WGN America.

I have yet to see it on tv. Usually whenever I do spot a viacom logo, it's always the 90s wigga wigga logo. Yet again, The Twilight Zone is really the only show I watch that would have the logo.
