cineplex odeon first logo
i have an cineplex odeon home video cassette--act of vengeance and making contact.
one is 1985 and the other is 1986, the logo does not show up anywhere in the tape.
this means that later 1986 cineplex odeon tapes have the logo, until 1990.
it is the same as the commercial version--cineplex odeon theatres, but "theatres" is replaced with "home video presentation" and cineplex odeon is bumped from bottom to top.
the cinema version has more of the background visible and is wider, other than that...pretty much the same.

yes, this was used in theaters--found out on youtube last year. this logo actually gave me bad dreams---i went to see 'casper', sitting too close to the screen and it was loud. i still get some bad dreams of that from time to time- i was young. this home video started in 1985, when the merger happened--cineplex theaters brought canadian odeon theaters and the logo i think is the old cineplex chain--eaton centre 18 and sych

was this originally used in theatres?
Does anyone know if this animation was also used in Cineplex Odeon Theatres? This definitely seems like an 80s theatre tag ("please enjoy our refreshments...and now, our feature presentation...").

cineplex odeon didn't exist until 1985! so where it says "1st logo" the 1981 should be 1985 or 1986.

the logo on another movie
1989/1990 releases of the stepfather 2 have the first logo as well.
the idea for the logo may be from the cineplex's design.

ERRORS ON THIS LISTING
1) date for first logo is wrong: the company didn't exist until 1985, when the merger between canadian odeon theatres and cineplex theatres occured and the video line was created in 1986.
2) when you put the mouse on the logo it shows "1981-1988" it should say 1986 to 1989
