Universal Television w/ 1979-81 music:
This logo scares the hell out of me ever since I first heard it. The music was slowed down and had the kettledrum at the final note and it scared me to death. There are other who are scared of this too. Hanna-Barbara "Swirling Star": I am absolutely terrified of this logo! At the end of "The Powerpuff Girls", the music starts playing and it scares me to death!

Here's my hot sheet of closing logos that scared me in the past:
*Worldvision Enterprises, Inc. (1988-99): The dated "WHOOSH" sound and the minimalist synth-pad music that follows scared the heck out of me. In fact, even the opening visual of the Worldvision corporate globe logo zooming from a distance and the company name zooming out to join together is just as scary. The Blockbuster Entertainment variations seen from early 1994 to 1996, with that company's ticket logo unfolding, raise up the scare factor of this logo some. *Viacom (1976-85, syndication): The first three of this logo jingle's five notes that were ripped off of the 1975-91 Universal TV jingle (darn the composer behind the Viacom logo!) combined with the zooming visuals of the phrase ("A Viacom Presentation") and corporate "V" logo (all jazzed up in blue; the "V" is dark blue and the background is light blue) have scared me in my teen years. I've heard some people say blue is a rather emotional color. A warp speed version that ran from 1979-85 boosts the scare factor some. *DFS Program Exchange (1979-87): The music on the 1979 logo, which was remixed in 1987, sounds very minimalist and something intended for a progressive rock band. The light rays that start the 1979 logo form into "dfs," with the arrows for "PROGRAM" and "EXCHANGE" coming in from the left and right respectively (one version of this logo has black dots on it). *The Program Exchange (1987-2006): The visuals of the 1987 logo do me in due to the shades of blue used throughout. The 1987 logo has the arrows zooming out to the center, the words PROGRAM and EXCHANGE zooming in the other way. The music was changed to an entirely different tune for 1993, but it is still the visual side of the logo that remains scary. ~Ben

For me, there is some stuff that I think is AWESOME, but then there is the stuff that scares the heebeejebies out of me, and the crap that is just so goddang ANNOYING!
Scary: Paramount 1988 FP Logo: That music scares the f&*% outta me!!!!! Klasky-Csupo SSF: Even typing this scares me! Ugghghghghgh! V of Doom: Only the music, but the logo coming up is OK... New Line Cinema Creepy Red Line: Watched Nightmare on Elm Street... with that logo, the movie is SCARY AS **^%!!!!!! Annoying: NONE! Oh, and I feel your pain, TWC1982, and I can't even make a page!

Paramount Home Video Feature Presentation ID: Scare Factor for me: High Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment Feature Presentation ID: Scare Factor for me: High. Klasky Csupo SSF: While the so-called Viacom V of Doom and Screen Gems Creepy S can still make people pee their pants, the leader of them all is the SSF. Why oh why do you make WillWill45 whizz his pants? Jesus Christ, I hate this logo so much! You should have added the K-C Rooster as you current logo, Klasky Csupo!

MGM Logo (1924-Present) Scare Factor for Me: Nightmare!
Dear God! I hate that logo so much! It scared me forever and Haunted me for Life and still does! The Roar Doesn't even sound like a Lion. His roar is so loud and obnoxious, He barely Roared my Soul Out! Viacom Wigga wigga logo (1990-1998) Scare Factor for Me: Nightmare (Younger) Low (Now) This used to scare me when I was younger after watching I love Lucy on Nick at Nite and I had bad dreams when I was a kid. Thank god I'm older and it looks like it Doesn't seemed so scary anymore. It's Barely Harmless. The Program Exchange CGI Crossing Arrows (1987-2008) Scare factor foe me: High (Younger) Low (Now) The Dreamy music was very creepy back when I was younger after Garfield and Friends. But now, It doesn't quite scare me anymore either. It's Also Harmless.

The WB logo that looked like it was going to pop right out of the screen at the beginning of the Bugs Bunny cartoon "Lumber Jack-Rabblt" scared me when I was a kid. I found out much later that it was originally shown in 3-D, which is why I guess they did that. It still startles me a bit today, because you never see it coming.

I am fascinated with closing logos and the scare factors give the 10-second logos replay value. Anyway, here are logos that scare me now.
Viacom V of Doom: I can't imagine how I would have felt if I was a child in the 70's. It is pure evil. Screen Gems S From Hell: Another quintessential logo. I would be freaked out if I saw it in person in the mid-60s and early-70s. LBS Pan-out: The flash and the Moog synthesizer could creep you out. The VID logo. It's not much of the mask or the fanfare at the end, it is the beginning. When I saw it on YouTube and I saw the line at the beginning, I was thinking the video was jumpy. No, it is just like that. What is worse is that grating sound effect. It is what you would hear from a 1960 3M projector. Ironically, I lived in Russia and Pole Chudes was my favorite show, yet I don't remember it! The RKO WOR ident. Jeez, that is the combination of the how bad the logo can be. The lightning, the trippy colors, the cheesy synths, and the crescendo scares the soul out of me! Paramount: Closet killer. Yes, the frightening fanfare creeps me out. Annoying logo: PBS: 1989 alternate: The thing seemed out of focus and there seemed like a color problem. THX: The logo scared me to death, now I think is completely annoying. That is all I can come up with at the moment. If I think of more logos to add, I will.

Scary now:
Renaissance Pictures: The Mona Lisa being torn apart, accompanied by lightning and strange chanting. WHAT THE FUCK? Klasky-Csupo "Super Scary Face": Strange, disembodied face speaking to you in a freaky voice. Again, WHAT THE FUCK? Mozark Productions "Filmstrips": Not the design that's scary, but the music. Sounds like horror movie music. Very strange. Vin Di Bona Productions: The music attempts to sound cheerful, but fails and instead sounds creepy. Used to scare me: Reeves Entertainment "Drama Masks": The masks looked creepy to me. One Ho Productions: Apparently, someone thought it was a good idea to use a creepy drawing of Whoopi as her logo.

I used to be frightened by any logo with a bombastic fanfare, such as the television logos for Fox, Paramount, Columbia, and Universal. Thank goodness Warner Bros. TV missed the cut by several years. As for annoying, I don't know; Children's Video Library is annoying, as was the V of Doom. But one logo that really scared the heck out of me was the 1960s Filmways logo, especially the Green Acres variation, the one where Eva Gabor reads the saying, and adds the word "dahhling." That would be the source of the most recurring nightmare of my childhood. I didn't conquer it (within my dreams) until my senior year of high school! That's about 15 years of "This is a 'Tation Dahling" nightmares!

This logo scared the crap out of me when I first saw this on television. I don't remember seeing this much on television in 2006. The way the music is made of really creepy synths, the "Explosion" is so godawful and scary. The animation looks confusing for the time, but does it scare me? Pretty much, but the music is what makes this logo so scary. Not to mention the "Explosion" is the scariest part.

Definitivamente desde años... "Swirling Star" inclusive leyendo las descripciones se me ponen los pelos de gallina.
Como el comentario de abajo, una noche miraba "Las chicas superpoderosas", la primera impresion de este programa fue excelente, su humor es unico, el descubrimiento fue tardio. Me reia a carcajada por el final del episodio y tenia esa sonrisa de tarado hasta pasado los 50 segundos de titulos cuando de repente... CGI Swirling Star!, encima de repente y con las luces apagadas, un poco mas me agarraba un infarto, me enteraria 6 años despues en la pagina "KRS Logos" que el Cartoon Network hizo un intento de revivir este logo pero fallo. Este logo me produce sensaciones raras de miedo y aprecio, desde que veia "Los Supersonicos" en la era dorada del Cartoon Network.
