Cheesy Factor: The flipping is rough.
Music/Sounds: A dramatic horn and drum fanfare.
Availability: Can be seen if your PBS station has older prints, otherwise extinct.
Scare Factor: Minimal.

is below it, in white, and in various fonts. A time-lapsed sunset occurs. "WQED" glows slightly.
FX: Just the time lapse and flashing.
Music/Sounds: A 5-note horn fanfare and a 3-note drum fanfare.
Availablity: Current, seen on WQED shows. Also currently used as a station ID to fake life after
Old School, one of the worst black and white kids shows, is gone from TV.
Scare Factor: None; this is a favorite, actually.
3rd Logo
(1991-1996)
Logo: We see a small Earth globe against a starry sky quickly rotate around counterclockwise, and the words "WQED" (in yellow) with "PITTSBURGH" (in white) below slowly rotate around clockwise, followed by "WGBH" (in yellow) with "BOSTON" (in white) below.
FX: The rotating globe and letters.
Music/Sounds:
- 1991-1993: The introduction to the theme playing repeatedly throughout coupled with Lynne Thigpen saying "Today's caper is presented by WQED Pittsburgh and WGBH Boston.".
- 1993-1996: The end theme of the show coupled with Lynne Thigpen saying "This program is presented by WQED Pittsburgh and WGBH Boston.".
Availability: Only seen on "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?", which is hardly, if ever, re-ran.
