The last time I've ever seen the "V of Doom" was back in the late-'90s on an episode of "I Love Lucy." When's the last time you've seen the "V of Doom?"

The reason is this. Mary Tyler Moore was the first to be distributed by Viacom. It was also ran on CBS. Mary (I think) was thought of,
, so the newly formed Viacom used the font to represent her. But, that wasn't the earliest disturbed. The Green Cockatoo was the earliest disturbed. But that doesn't really matter! So, tell me what you think about that. |

Does any agree with me that the original color scheme on both the filmed and telecined versions of the 1976-85 "V of Doom" logo should be a light blue background and a dark blue "V"? The purple and green versions of the color scheme would (most likely) be attributed to print deterioration.

I'm just curious to know because sometimes on WHNT (CBS- affiliate) in Huntsville, Alabama they show the scary/craptasular logo at the end of Andy Griffin when it comes on at 9:00 and 9:30 in the morning, but mostly they show the typical 1995 Paramount Majestic Mountain in Black & White with no sound. If you all can find any shows besides Andy Griffin that has this logo let me know on a reply.

Last week, I was watching "The Honeymooners" on The Comedy Network (that's the Canadian equivalent of Comedy Central, if you didn't already know). The credits roll, and what else do I see at the end but the old, infamous Viacom logo.
But there was something seriously strange about this logo. The background rapidly flashed purple, red and green like it was trying to induce a seizure in an epileptic. I really wish I could have recorded this. I'm thinking it was either a joke by someone at The Comedy Network, or the oddest mistake I've ever seen.

There was also a version which used an orange background...it was seen (AFAIK) only on the 1978-79 syndicated version of You Don't Say (w/Jim Peck)...interestingly, it didn't use the infamous fanfare, they just kept playing the YDS closing theme under it instead.

I saw on It on "Hollywood Channel" just before the current universal logo. I was watching the TV-Movie "Taking the Heat" and I saw it, VIA was in pink, and COM was in blue, and was with the Wigga-Wigga font. Under it the word "PICTURES" in red, zoomed cheapily. The music was 3 ascending notes and then the wigga-wigga music. I was very surprised about that. What do you think?

This is how the Wigga-Wigga logo should be described:
Logo: On a shaded blue background, a silver "V" flies from the bottom left and then backwards. As it does so, a zig-zag line comes out of it to form the other letters in the name (it shines as it does this), with the "A" and "M" still taking the form of zig-zags. The completed logo shines, as a voiceover (rumored to be Bill Cosby) says the company name "Viacom". |

Does this article really need so many videos? They take up too much room and also slow down the page.

Don't forget to mention that the videotaped "V of Doom" still appears after two episodes of "The Twilight Zone" on the SCI FI Channel ("One for the Angels" and "You Drive").
