Background: 'Vzglyad I Drugie' (transl: Vzglyad And Others) TV Company was founded in 1990 by co-founders of 'Vzgyad' TV programme Vlad Listyev, Alexander Lyubimov, Andrej Razbash and others. Listyev wanted to use strange symbol as a logo of VID company and his wife offered to try the head of a Taoist Philosopher (it isn't as scary as VID mask) exposed in the Museum of Eastern Culture. But the museum forbade using it as a logo and it was changed using CGI (and became scarier). In 1995 Listyev became head of the 1st Channel but later he was killed due to problems with commercial.
1st Logo
(1990-2002)
Nicknames: "The Scary Mask", "The Russian Mask", "ВИD", "The Mask of Doom", "The Mask of Stone", "The Angry Mask" "VID mask" "The Russian SSF", "Soviet Scary Face", "Another SSF", "The Personification of All That Is Evil", "SSM (Super Scary Mask)"
Logo: On a white background, we see a thick black line wipe onto the screen from the left side, going right. It begins vibrating as it continues moving, and then a white ball comes from off-screen left and begins bouncing along it at a fast pace. It then falls off as the line stops moving. Then we cut to a large close-up of the ball as it zooms away from us and fades out. A black circle then zooms in to fill the screen, creating a black background, and then a creepy-looking stone mask with a mean-looking expression on its face fades in. Then "ВИD" fades in and shines underneath in large bronze letters, which is Russian for "VID".
Variants:
Cheesy Factor: The animation of the ball bouncing and the line isn't very detailed, looking like it was made in the 1950s.
Music/Sounds: Starts out with a jackhammer/film projector-like noise during the ball and line animation, and then when the black circle zooms in, a loud, dramatic five-note fanfare is heard.
Availability: Rare; seen before VID-produced programs in Russia.
Scare Factor: Depends on the variant:
2nd logo
(1996-1999)
Nickname: "The Wonder Screen"
Logo: On a grey background with white projectors we see a huge TV-set with large screen, where frames from VID programs "Muzobos", "Rush Hour", "Vzglyad", "Pole Chudes", "Theme" and "Ugadai Melodiyu" are flashing, and comera is moving. Later, the screen shows VID mask, it disappears in grey metallic VID sign. Everything becomes black, and the "представляет" sign appears
FX: The background details moving, the screen of TV-set switching
Cheesy factor: The background doesn't actually synchronised with the screen, and doesn't change when the camera is moving.
Music: 30's style pathriotic music, similar with "The Sing helps us to build and to live" from the Soviet "Vesyolie Rebyata" film made in 30s.
Availability: Ultra rare.
Scare factor: Minimal, but it's better than the previous logo.
3rd Logo
(2002- )
Nicknames: "Modern Mask Of Doom", "The Tame Mask", "The Tame SSF"
Logo: A gold line lengthens in the center of the screen, resembling a CRT television powering up. The line opens up and glows, containing the word "телекомпания" in black font (this word is also seen scrolling in faint large letters within the bar); this then shrinks into a dot, from which arises a thin black circle, containing within it the infamous stone mask. The mask stops in the center of the screen, much smaller than before, and the circle fades into oblivion. The word "ВИD" appears in gold Times New Roman font, some lines close in around the mask, and a faint gold line appears at the bottom-right; the word "представляет" is laid thereupon in black Courier New font. All of this happens in a span of about five seconds.
FX: Modern graphics & effects.
Cheesy Factor: It looks like the mask from the previous logo was just plastered on a yellow line.
Music/Sounds: Just the same voice from the variant of logo 1.
Availability: Currently in use in Russia.
Scare Factor: Low to medium; the stone mask is still an unsettling sight, but this is mercifully toned down from the first logo.

Variants:
- Late in this logo's life, in 1999, the wiping transitions were removed due to concerns of epilepsy. The mask is forming from the smoke of a lit match.
- In 1999-2001, a special Christmas variant was used that featured the mask fading in and slowly zooming in. As it zooms, it slowly grows a beard and Santa hat complete with a happy grin. Below the mask, it reads "Happy New Year!", and the word "Year" changes to "VID".
