United LearningThis is a featured page

1st logo
(1978-1994)
United Learning - CLG Wiki
Nickname: "The Flying Boxes"

Logo: On a black background, we see white outlined boxes (without a picture) flying from the bottom right to the middle left of the screen, as the boxes apply together and a picture of flowers (that are orange squares with black outlining) and a flash appears at the outlining. The text "UNITED LEARNING" appears next to the box. The text then "shines" left to right (think the Touchstone Pictures logo).

Closing Variant: A closing logo was used at the end of most tapes with the animation reversed.

FX: The animation in this logo.

Music: A synthesizer electronic jingle with 4 long low-notes in the background, with 3 electronic beeps during the first 2 low-notes, and 8 more electronic beeps during the last 2 low-notes.

Cheesy Factor: Well the flash looks cheesy, as well as the electronic jingle kinda sounds a bit like the CTW "Snake" logo...

Availability: Seen on tapes from the period.

Scare Factor: Low to medium; the electronic beeps may startle you, along with the darkness and boxes appearing.

2nd Logo
(1998-current)

TBA

Altschul Group Corporation/United Learning
1st Logo
(1994 - 1998)

Logo: On a squiggly lined dark blue background, we see three huge shapes with videoclips inside of them (showing polar bears, the Amazon Rain Forest, etc.) The shapes turn upward and zoom out, revealing a blue "AGC." Then, a circle places itself around the letters, with " Altschul Group Corporation " at the top, and " United Learning " at the bottom, also in blue.

FX: The live action clips, the logo and circle placing itself into view. Okay CGI for the time.

Music: TBA, and it was not silent.

Availability: Due to it's short lifespan, it's pretty rare. Used on all tapes from the period.

Scare Factor: None.
