Background: Originally known as Los Hooligans Producciones/Productions, this company was founded by
Robert Rodriguez in 1991 to produce films; however, it was renamed to its actual name in 2001. They created the Spy Kids trilogy, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, Sin City, and the double feature Grindhouse.


1st Logo

Cheesy Factor: Cool CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme of the first Spy Kids movie.

2nd Logo

Nickname: "Pepino on a Rollercoaster"

who is riding faster as we reveal the text:

in the same font as the first logo. The logo "shines," then the word "STUDIOS" disappears as Pepino leaves the logo.

Variant: After the logo segues into the film, Pepino appears in the theme park scene of Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams.

Nickname: "CGI Pepino"

Logo: On a black/
blue systemized background, a blue chair is revealed with Pepino sitting on it, which he then puts on some 3D glasses and pushes the button on the chair, angering it as he give his thumb up, starts riding and flying, revealing the text "TROUBLEMAKER STUDIOS" in the same font as logos 1 and 2. Pepino crashes through the company's name twice.

Variants:
  • In the 2-D edit of Spy Kids 3-D Game Over, Pepino wears his sunglasses instead of the 3D glasses.
  • In The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D, Pepino wears Sharkboy 3D glasses while the chair turns into a shark and the background is metal wall.

FX: Pepino wears 3-D glasses and crashes his logo.

Cheesy Factor: Cool 3-D animation and music.

Music/Sounds: Depends on the film.

Availability: Rare; can be seen on Spy Kids 3-D Game Over and The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl on Disney Channel and occasionally Toon Disney reruns.

Nicknames: "The Restored Text", "The Fire Logo"

Logo: We see a black background when an orange fire appears. The company's name zooms out to face us. The text "TROUBLEMAKER STUDIOS" reveals on a fire background. The logo "burns" at the end of the logo.

FX: Nice fire animation.


Cheesy Factor: The fire appearing, the burning.

Music/Sounds: Just a "fire" sound effect.

Availability: Brand new. Can be currently seen on Sin City and the two Grindhouse movies Planet Terror and Death Proof.

Scare Factor: Medium to high; the fire background might not sit well with everybody.
