Background: Not to be confused with Summit Entertainment, this organization was purchased by 4Kids in 2000, currently becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary.
1st Logo (1994-1995)
Logo: On a beige background, we see "The Summit Media Group" in black. Then a green, curved zig-zag line representing mountains draws to the left of the text.
FX/SFX: The line drawing.
Music/Sounds: A short rock tune.
Availability: Extinct, since the Mega Man TV show (not Megaman: NT Warrior) hasn't been reran in YEARS.
Scare Factor: None.
2nd Logo (1998-2000)
Logo: We see some mountains which are below the sky and above the trees. A star "draws" a green, curved, zig zag line (which is supposed to represent mountains) as "The Summit Media Group Inc." in black appears next to the line. The whole thing slowly zooms in as the background changes to rippling water with two rectangles at the top and bottom of the screen, colored blue and green, sliding in from the right.
Variant: On English-dubbed episodes of Pokémon, the whole logo cuts to the show's logo.
FX/SFX: The star "drawing".
Cheesy Factor: Very cheap, even by 1998 standards.
Music/Sounds: The Pokémon theme plays over the logos, so there are no sounds or music, unless you count the loud "WHOOSH" over the logo (Which is retained from the shot of Ash throwing a Pokéball in the opening sequence). On RoboCop: Alpha Commando, the 1996 Orion Pictures logo theme plays over this.
Availability: CanNearbeextinction. Waslast seen on season one of Pokémon (the Indigo League) up until episode 53 whenonrerunBoomerangon(whenever they decide to rebroadcastBoomerang,it), as well as the Pokémon videotapes. Episodes after this cut the logo and replaced it with the full animation of the 2nd 4Kids Entertainment logo. Was also seen on RoboCop: Alpha Commando.
