1st Logo
(1981-1987)

Nickname: "Red Star Writer"
Logo: On a shady olive green BG, we see a red star forming the neon text "THE MOVIE STORE" with "THE" smaller than the other words. Then a red outlined rounded rectangle is drawn around it. The logo then flashes a bit.
FX: The logo drawing and flashing.
Music/Sounds: A synth chord with clicks, scritch-scratching noises and a trumpet portion.
Availability: Hard to find. Check old VHS releases of films for this logo as some of their films were released under the Vestron, Lightning, IVE, and Cineplex-Odeon Home Video labels. One of the most successful films to have this logo was Jackals (1986) (AKA: American Justice). Other movies that have this logo are Basic Training, The Outing, and The Offspring (A.k.a. From a Whisper to a Scream).
Scare Factor: Low.
2nd Logo
(1987-1992)
Nickname: "The Lines & The V"
Logo: On a black background, a series of lines, descending from purple to orange-red, come across the screen from the right. Once they stop, they change to blue and zoom out, revealing a box, with the word "MOVIESTORE" below zooming out too, while a blue V comes down and gets behind the box. After that, a streak shoots from the left screen, revealing the word "ENTERTAINMENT" that is below the word "MOVIESTORE".
FX: Lines forming, zooming out, streak-shooting.
Music/Sounds: New age music.
Availability: Appears on MGM DVD's of Ski School, Nobodys Perfect, and Meatballs 4. Just simply look on the box for the print logo.
Scare Factor: None.
