TalkBack Productions (UK)
Written and images by Shadeed A. Kelly
Background: TalkBack Productions was formed in 1981 by Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones and it was one of UK's leading production companies. In 2003, the company was sold to FremantleMedia for £62 million and was merged with Thames Television to form talkbackTHAMES.
1st Logo
(1984-2003)
Logo: The company didn't use a logo until 1984. Just a simple in-credit logo saying:
with "TalkBack" in a bigger and bolder font with a flower cutouts in the A's. Sometimes, it would have "For BBC TELEVISION" and a copyright stamp.
FX: None; it's a superimposed logo in the credits. Sometimes, this logo would be placed outside the credits and have its own card.
Music/Sounds: The end theme of the show or none at all.
Availability: Seen on such UK shows like Alias Smith and Jones, A Life in Pieces, Murder Most Horrid, and Nevermind the Buzzcocks, among others.
Scare Factor: Depends on the logo:
2nd Logo
(2003-2006)
Logo: On a white background with bits of green on several corners and the top, we have the "talkback" name in green and in bold.
Below it would have the talkbackTHAMES logo name below and the byline "Part of the FremantleMedia Group", and sometimes below that, the copyright stamp to FremantleMedia.
Variant: Some co-productions would have "PRODUCED BY" above and for whatever network below the Talkback name.
FX: None; it's a still logo.
Music/Sounds: The end theme of the show.
Availability: Seen on reruns of Da Ali G Show, Nathan Barley, The Sex Inspectors, Nevermind the Buzzcocks, QI, and Monkey Dest, among others.
Scare Factor: None.

- Based on how you feel about the end title theme from any show, it can range from none to medium.
- None without the music.
