Background: This company was formed in 1988 by Carl Macek and Jerry Beck to produce and distribute English dubbed Japanese animation; however, this company stopped producing new anime releases when it was folded into Orion Pictures Corporation in 1996 and finally into Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1997, with the acquisition of the parent company. In 2002, this company went out of business, and all its film and television material are now owned by different anime companies, such as Manga and ADV.

1st Logo
(1989-1993)

Nickname: "The Train"
Streamline Pictures - CLG Wiki
Logo: On a black background, a spark bounces all over the screen. When it covers the whole screen, it fades to a train in a circle. "Streamline", in a blue futuristic font, is above the train, and "PICTURES", in orange, is written inside the outline of the circle.

FX/SFX: The spark animation.

Music/Sounds: Usually none, but on occasion (such as Lensman and Windaria), the film's opening theme is used.

Availability: It would be a good idea to search for pre-Orion era tapes of Streamline Pictures anime dubs; the Best Home Video
release of Robot Carnival for example. Can also be seen on the F.H.E release of Speed Racer: The Movie (Note: Not the 2008 movie, looked like an '80s one)

Scare Factor: Low; the animation may get to some.

2nd Logo
(1993-1996)

Nickname: "The Lava Logo"
Streamline Pictures (1993-1996)

Logo: In a volcanic environment, "Streamline Pictures", in the same font as in the first logo, comes out of the molten magma and rises into space. When it settles, it zooms out for a split second and shines.

FX/SFX: The volcanic activity and the words animation.

Music/Sounds: A lush orchestral tune that ends with a five-note brass stinger. On Fist of the North Star, the opening theme is used instead.

Availability: Tapes from Streamline Pictures have been long out of print, but your best bet is to look for this logo on Orion Home Video's releases of Streamline material, including Lupin III: The Mystery of Mamo and Babel II.

Scare Factor: Minimal.
