1st logo
(1980s-1996)
StarMakerStarMaker

Nickname: "Silver Rectangle"

Logo: We start out with a starry sky background. A silver/gray octagonal rectangle shifts up. Then
"STARMAKER" in a stylized font with a line under it, but the bottom V of the M overlaps it, making it "cut open", shifts down to on the rectangle. The name then shines with pings.

FX/SFX: The animation in the logo.

Cheesy Factor: The stars look like the fakest things in the world. The animation is cheesy, as well as the chyroned-in trademark (TM) symbolfading in...

Music/Sounds: A synth chord starts, then low-synth beeps and 3 "pings" in sync with the shining.

Availability: Rare. Can be found on tapes from the period, such as budget versions of the post-1984 New World library and some tapes of TV shows, most notably Crime Story, Faerie Tale Theatre, Heathers, and Saturday Night Live, even some co-released by Video Treasures and some early Anchor Bay releases!

Scare Factor: M
edium to high. The creepy music and cheesy animation may scare some.

2nd logo
(2000s)
Starmaker (2000s)

Logo: On a black background, we see the print version of the previous Starmaker logo in a white box zoom in toward us. Then it stops once it's in view.

FX/SFX: The zooming of the logo.

Cheesy Factor: No effort put here.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Rare. Seen on one of the Shelley Duvall's Bedtime Stories DVDs.

Scare Factor: None

Why are there random links put on this article? I didn't actually click on them, but according to my browser tab, the links for the highlighted words "background" and "symbol" simply lead to this exact article.

Also, the tab shows that it'll be accompanied by the pound/shifted 3 (#) sign.
Wasn't there a rule made a few years ago about adding unsafe links? It could just be me, but i believe this was shortly after the LiveVideo crisis was solved. And also, IIRC, the rule wasn't so much about unsafe links as much as the prohibition of "gaming/tool bars" on articles.
Do you find this valuable?
