(1988-1992)

Seven Arts Pictures "7A" (1990-1992)

Nickname: "7A"

Logo: On a black background, we see many stars forming the logo. The logo is a box with a stylized "7A" inside a box, and "SEVEN" is shown above the box, and "ARTS" under the box. Then we see the byline, "THROUGH NEW LINE CINEMA" (with its print logo) on the bottom right of the screen.

FX: The stars forming the name.

Music/Sounds: Starts out with some tinkles when the stars form the logo, then a synth theme.

Availability: Rare; appears on Repossessed.

Scare Factor: Low.

4th Logo
(1991)

Nicknames
: "7A II", "Shining 7A", "Zooming 7A"

Logo: On a black background, we see a shiny blue 7A zooming out. The "Seven Arts" text is then seen at a certain point. The logo shines, and the New Line byline fades in.

FX/SFX: The zooming, shining, and byline fading in.

Music/Sounds: A peaceful synth choir theme.

Availability: Rare; seen on Rambling Rose, and intact on the IFC airing and DVD of said film.

Scare Factor: None.

5th Logo
(1992-1995)

Seven Arts Pictures "Cloudy 7A" (1992-1995)Seven Arts (1992)

Nicknames: "7A III", "Cloudy 7A"

Logo: Over a orange or purple cloudy background, a 3D cube rotates into view from the top left, when it is facing the screen and in the center, lasers etch a etching of the 7A logo, then the etching explodes, leaving behind the normal 7A logo. The "Seven Arts" text appears, and the New Line byline fades in below.

FX: The clouds moving, the cube rotating, the lasers, the cube exploding, and the logo forming.

Music/Sounds: A synth trumpet leading into a synth orcristria fanfare when the logo explodes. Some laser zaps are heard when the lasers etch the logo.

Availability: Rare; seen on Light Sleeper and Aces: Iron Eagle III. This logo is intact on DVDs of some of these films.

Scare Factor: None; it has a clean, professional look.

Last night, WGN America (formerly Superstation WGN) has aired "Aces: Iron Eagle III" (1992). Apparently, I had a clip that contains both that logo and the Carolco logo. The one that aired on WGN has both the New Line Cinema (1995) with "A TimeWarner Company" byline preceding with Seven Arts (1992), but no Carolco logo.

I've now recorded that clip and will soon be on my Dailymotion profile
