1st Logo
(1981-1997)
Logo: On a black background, we zoom out on an orange planet that later rotates to the left. The sun shines on the planet as it is seen rotating to the left. Superimposed, we see the text "scott sternberg productions".
FX/SFX: The rotating of the planet.
Music/Sounds: Wind is heard first. As the planet rotates, spaceship sound effects are heard.
Availability: First seen in 1981 on the Playboy Channel game show Everything Goes. Was also seen on the 1989 TV movie Nashville Beat (IIRC, a game show hosted by Scott himself called Let's Go Back on the Nostalgia Channel [now GoodLife TV] from 1991-1993 also had this logo).
Scare Factor: None.
2nd Logo
(1997- )
Logo: Already positioned against a background of blue vertical lines, we see "scott sternberg" in a grungy font. The camera appears to be tilted at a big angle, but then straightens itself as "productions" zooms out below.
FX/SFX: "productions" zooming out, the camera straightening itself.
Music/Sounds: A loud rock-guitar jingle with a "whoosh".
Availability: Currently seen on Catch 21 and That's the Question on GSN, Shootout on AMC, and Square Off on ANC. Originally spotted on Jep! on GSN and Wheel of Fortune 2000 on CBS (the first known sighting of this logo) in 1997.
Scare Factor: Low to medium for the music.
