Background: Sande Stewart Television (also known as “Stewart Television”) is an American independent television production company founded in 1985 by Sande Stewart, who is the son on the legendary game show producer Bob Stewart. Sande first joined his father in 1973 by co-producing The $10,000 Pyramid, which would be later retitled as the following order: The $25,000 Pyramid, The $20,000 Pyramid, The $50,000 Pyramid, The New $25,000 Pyramid, and finally The $100,000 Pyramid. Many of the game shows would be copyrighted under his father’s other production arm, “Basada, Inc.”, which was named after Barry, Sande, and David Stewart. Stewart also co-produced other game shows like Go, The New Chain Reaction, and the 1989 revival of Jackpot! with his name co-credited alongside with his father. In 1985, Stewart created and produced the short-lived game show Your Number’s Up. The game show aired on NBC and would be put up against his father’s popular The $25,000 Pyramid aired on CBS. When Stewart Tele Enterprises was sold to Sony Pictures Entertainment in 1994, Sande created and produced more solo game shows like Sports On Tap, Hollywood Showdown for GSN and PAX, Inquizition for GSN, Remember This? for MSNBC, and Powerball Instant Millionaire for syndication. His company however, is not owned by Sony.
