SOFA Entertainment
(1993-)

SOFA Entertainment is the current name of Andrew Solt Productions, which has been in operation since the late 1970s. It controls the rights to The Ed Sullivan Show (which it purchased from Sullivan's estate in 1992).

Logo: We see a couch on a white background. A Basset hound is seen lying on the couch. Meanwhile, the word SOFA appears letter by letter (in puffy, almost pillow-like font) The word "ENTERTAINENT""ENTERTAINMENT" is seen near the bottom of the couch. The hound then turns around and barks.

Variation: The initalinitial version from 1993 (as seen on the first Very Best of Ed Sullivan special) had a black cat on the couch staring at the viewer. This was soon replaced with the logo described above.

Availability: Mostly only on their DVD releases; was seen on VH1 in the late 1990s, when they aired Ed Sullivan's Rock and Roll Classics, a half hour of musicialmusical highlights from classic Ed Sullivan episodes. Also seen on PBS and syndicated half-hour edited reruns of The Ed Sullivan Show.
