Background: SFM Entertainment (formerly known as SFM Media Corporation and SFM Media Service Corporation) is an American television syndicator, established in 1968. The name comes from the initials of the company's founders: Walter Staab, Robert Frank, and Stanley Moger. This company didn't use a logo until 1977.

(1977- )

SFM (1979)SFM (1985)SFM Entertainment (1998)SFM (1998)

Nicknames: "SFM R
ainbow (of Doom)", "Rainbow Fill"

Logo: On a black background are white outlines to the letters "sfm" (though the "M" is a capital one despite being shorter than the "f") Each letter is then filled with a rainbow pattern of colors. All but the "M" are filled from the top. The "M" is filled starting at its left.

FX: The letters being filled.

Music/Sounds: A series of morse code beeps typing out "SFM" in morse code over and over. Sometimes, a voice, that of SFM co-founder Stanley K. Moger, was heard saying various phrases; these are seen below.

Music/Sound Variants:
  • The original logo was completely silent, and after the letters were colored in, the words "An SFM Media Service Corporation Presentation" appeared beneath them. This was seen on 1977-1978 prints of The New Mickey Mouse Club.
  • From 1978 until 1985, the announcer's spiel was "An SFM Media Service Corporation Television Presentation".
  • From 1985 until 1998, the announcer's spiel was "Distributed by the SFM Entertainment Division of SFM Media Corporation". This is the most well-known variant.
  • A special variant features an announcer saying "Developed and Produced in Association with the SFM Entertainment Division of SFM Media Corporation".
  • Since 1998, there has been no announcer. The word "Entertainment" appears under the SFM logo, and the morse code beeps are higher-pitched.
  • Two main variants of the 1978-1998 version exist. One is a filmed version and the other is a videotaped version.

Availability: Rare. Currently seen on the Christmas special Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer on Cartoon Network during Christmas. Was seen on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In reruns on Trio, but the channel has been off the air for nearly two years now and before that in the 1990's after reruns of Care Bears on the Disney Channel and The Flip Wilson Show on TV Land.

Scare Factor: Medium to high; some people were creeped out by the "spooky" announcer. Some might also be spooked out by the dark nature and lack of "real" text. A nightmare for Seconteen (she was creeped out by the beeping and the voice).
