Background: Sí TV was originally formed in 1997 as a production company to produce English-language Latino-targeted programming. In 2004, the company was remodeled into a cable network, the first of such to focus on English-language programming for Latinos. In 2011, the network was renamed to NUVOtv, and renamed entertainer Jennifer Lopez as chief creative officer, but slowly began deviating from its original purpose, airing programs like Cash Cab. In 2014, NUVOtv purchased music network Fuse, and the next year NUVOtv was rebranded as FM.
