Background: Productions Bibi et Geneviève was established in 1987 by Paul Cadieux and Francine Tougas, the creators of the eponymous show called Bibi et Geneviève (which starred Michel Ledoux as Bibi, the main protagonist who was a green-haired friendly alien also nicknamed 4.4.X and Stéphanie Dansereau as Geneviève, Bibi's friend). In the 1990's, the company expanded to also become a publishing house. The company closed in 1999 when the series ended its long-time lifespan of ten years (including eight on Le Canal Famille (1988-1996) and four on TVA (1995-1999)). But the series revived on DVD in 2008 in a 9-DVD box set with the first 130 episodes. This box set is available from Filmoption International, the current owner of the series.
