Logo descriptions and captures by Logoboy95
Background: Playhouse Disney was launched in 1997 as the Disney Channel's answer to Nick Jr.; however, this network never use it's own real on-screen logo until 2001; just the Disney Channel logo featuring Mickey Mouse tap-dancing over a Mickey Mouse TV screen intact on pre-2001 Playhouse Disney shows such as Out of the Box, PB&J Otter, and Rolie Polie Olie. It's first show was Bear in the Big Blue House.
1st Logo
(2001-2002)
Nickname: "Mickey Mouse Screen"
Logo: On a same background as the 2nd logo, the words "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" appears and under it is the copyright notice
with "Disney" in its own logo font. Then the notice fades out to reveal the (1997-2002) Playhouse Disney logo, containing characters of each show over a Mickey Mouse TV screen (Winnie the Pooh, Stanley, etc.).
FX: The characters.
Music/Sounds: An earlier version of the Playhouse Disney jingle.
Availability: Seen on pre-2002 Playhouse Disney shows like The Book of Pooh, Stanley, Out of the Box, and other old shows of the "Mickey Mouse Screen" era. Plastered over with the 2002 Mickey head logo. Some DVD releases still have this logo.
Scare Factor: None.
2nd Logo
(2002-2007)
Nickname: "The Mickey Mouse Head"
Logo: On a green background filled with dark green flowers and yellow stars, a yellow Mickey Mouse head with a purple outline flies from the top-right of the screen. Over the Mickey head, we see the text "playhouse DISNEY" with "Disney"
in its corporate logo font. Suddenly a blue banner (a la the WB logo) flies up underneath the company name, reading "ORIGINAL" in a weird font reminded you of the Disneywhite Channel logo.font. The logo is always followed by the copyright notice on a black background with "Disney" in the signature corporate font.
Variant: There's a tweaked variant of this logo on The Koala Brothers in which the same logo is used with high-pitched jingle (via +1 key).
FX: The Mickey Mouse head flying, the blue banner appearing.
Music/Sounds: We just hear an older Playhouse Disney jingle, but on other shows, the ending theme finishes over it.
Availability: Seen on such Playhouse Disney shows as Stanley, JoJo's Circus, Higglytown Heroes, Little Einsteins, Charlie and Lola, and The Koala Brothers; although Handy Mandy and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse used the ending theme played over this logo. Well, My Friends Tigger and Pooh used the 2003 Disney Channel logo instead of this one.
Scare Factor: None; it's a clean (and BORING!) logo.
3rd Logo
(2007- )
Nickname: "The Sunny Day"
Logo: On a sunny background, blue withsky abackground redwith smileygrass, facea intree, thea yellowsmiling sunsun, and a yellow bird with a red outline, we see the same Mickey Mouse head andhead. overInside the Mickey head is the words "playhouse DISNEY" with "DISNEY" in the "Disney" signaturecorporate logo font.font (just like before). Suddenly, a yellow ribbon, ribbon with a red outline, outline appearedappears near the bottom of the company name reading "Original". This logo is always followed by the copyright information on a black background.
FX: Just a yellow sun scrolling and the Playhouse Disney logo wobbling.
Music/Sounds: This is actually a snippet of the Playhouse Disney ID from 2007 onwards.
Availability: Brand new, but common. Currently seen on Bunnytown on Playhouse Disney.
Scare Factor: None.
