Philips Interactive Media
Logo description by mr3urious
Logo capture by mr3urious
Video courtesy of YTPsource
Background: Philips Interactive Media is a division of the Dutch electronics firm.
(1990-1995)
Logo: Against a black BG, we see a dark blue Philips logo (A shield shape with "PHILIPS", in white, at the top, with a dark blue circle containing wavy lines and some stars at the bottom). The circle transforms into a CD and flips around as the shield morphs into a bright blue rectangle, with "PHILIPS" left intact. The CD inserts itself into the rectangle, forming a white line. The words "INTERACTIVE" and "MEDIA" appear above and below the line, respectively.
FX: The transformation effects.
Cheesy Factor: The animation, like the game following it, is extremely cheap.
Music/Sounds: It starts out with a deep bass chord, which culminates in a synth fanfare.
Availability: Appears when you boot up a Philips CD-i console. The full logo (with music) was even shown on an episode of G4's Game Makers chronicling The Legend of Zelda.
Scare Factor: Low, because of the dark atmosphere and music.
