Namco, the famous worldwide game devolper, produce several films from their hit games back in the late 80's.
Nickname: Space Pac-Man
(late 80's)
Logo: On a black space background, the camera spans around space until, out of almost nowhere, as close of "Pac-Man", Namco's official
mascot, mascot and the title character from the legendary video game, floats out from the screen away from us. Jumping down, he lands on the "NAMCO" logo letters, N, A, M and they light up but he leaves the C and O but they light by themselves. The company sign logo turns 90c to the right to face us. Then, from the left, Pac-Man cheaply jump on top of the logo (a-la Silver Spidey Marvel 1986) and happily gives his regular pose to the camera. The Namco letters than shines.
FX/SFX: This logo clearly used full CGI animation, quite an early method for its time.
Cheesy Factor: The leaping of Pac-Man is so low-tech, it cracks a smile.
Music/Sounds: Starts with a synth rock guitar chord with whoosing sounds for Pac-Man's apperance. Three small synth trumpets note are played in tune to Pac-Man's steps. We end we a synth horn fanfare and a video-game sound for the letters.
Availability: Extremely Rare. Can be found on the hard-to-find video game spin-off "Mirai Ninja" or "Cyber Ninja" in the US from 1988.
Scare Factor: Medium. The low-tech animation and Pac-Man's sudden apperance might scare a few.
