Here is a list of six localized IDs of NBC's infamous "Proud as a Peacock" campaign (the 1979 version) for four TV stations and how the animation was done for them (note that the logos came from a demo reel uploaded onto YouTube not too long ago):

(1979-1980)

Logo: Basically we just see the the number for the channel zoom out over an image of outer space with a blue planet below, with the number sparkling. The animation varies:

KSBW in Salinas, California:

KSBW Proud as a Peacock '79 #1
(1st logo)
Over the space background, minus the planet, we see six comets shooting forward "KSBW-TV 8" in a futuristic 3D chrome font, one comet at a time, (there is a bigger comet that shoots out "-TV", while five smaller comets shoot out "K", "S", "B", "W", and "8") and then the logo shines on screen. Suddenly, the 11-feathered peacock shoots out covering KSBW's logo, though at first we only see one feather on the peacock (the center one), but it spreads the remaining ten feathers and shines all over.

KSBW Proud as a Peacock '79 #2
(2nd logo)
Same background, minus planet, but this time, we see "KSBW-TV", in the same font, but 2D, and "Salinas/Monterey" in a cheap Arial font, next to a larger "8", in the same font as "KSBW-TV", sliding in at the same time, "KSBW-TV" sliding from the left, and both "8" and "Salinas/Monterey" sliding from the right, meeting in the center, but dropping down just a bit as the same NBC peacock spreads its wings and shines. Below the logo, a comet shoots from the left, revealing "We're Proud", in a rather curvy font.

WBBH in Fort Myers, Florida:

WBBH Proud as a Peacock '79
(1st, maybe only, logo)
Space background, has planet, and a giant gold-colored "20" in an Arial font zooms out slowly to the center, sparkling. When it stops zooming and begins to sparkle, "Fort Myers", in the same font as "We're Proud" in the second KSBW ID, flips up.

WFMJ in Youngstown, Ohio:

WFMJ Proud as a Peacock '79 #1
(1st logo)
Space background with planet, the 11-feather peacock is in the center, nearly taking up all of the screen. It flashes a bit, then zooms out and disappears. No more than a second later, a gold-colored "21", in a Tahoma-like font, zooms in and four sparkles can be seen.

WFMJ Proud as a Peacock '79 #2
(2nd logo)
Same background, this time, the peacock zooms out to the top, but it doesn't disappear. A smaller version of the "21" zooms in, but has the same animation as the previous ID.

WMC in Memphis, Tennessee:

WMC Proud as a Peacock '79
(1st, maybe only, logo)
Usual background, this time a gold-colored "5", in a Times New Roman font, zooms out, and it sparkles just like the "20" and "21" in the previous IDs for WBBH and WFMJ. "Memphis", in the same font as "We're Proud" in the second KSBW ID, and "Fort Myers" in the WBBH ID, flips up, as does a 2D image of a paddle steamer (the trademark of WMC for many years)!

WCKT in Miami, Florida:

NBC "Proud as a Peacock" Legal Station IDs - CLG Wiki
(1st, maybe only, logo)
The NBC logo animates as normal, but the "Circle 7" logo zooms out below "Proud as a Peacock"

SFX: Each logo doing its own thing.

Music: A quick 30-second version of "Proud as a Peacock". You can hear singers singing "KSBW-TV 8" at the beginning and "TV-8, Proud as a Peacock!" at the end, as the order goes like this:

1st KSBW ID
WBBH ID
1st WFMJ ID
2nd WFMJ ID
WMC ID
2nd KSBW ID

(WCKT's came from somewhere else on YouTube, though, not in the reel)

Availability: The demo reel can still be seen on YouTube. Those IDs are long gone from TV, though, so check your tapes!

Scare Factor: Depends. KSBW's IDs may catch you off-guard, as does the first WFMJ ID, but the second WFMJ ID, as well as WBBH's and WMC's, shouldn't be too scary. WCKT's isn't that bad, either.
