(1978?-????)
Logo: On a black background, we zoom out through the top of a lowercase, brown, 3-D, "mississippi" (a la the 1986 Warner Home Video logo). There is a yellow glow around the "mississippi" and the dots of the "i"s are at various places. While it is zooming out, it turns counter clockwise to face the viewer. Once it is in place, it flashes yellow while we zoom out past two brown "walls". The "walls" are actually part of the "E" of a stylized "ETV" where the "E" is at a 45-degree angle and the bottom-left is wedged into a combined, brown, "TV". The "mississippi" zooms in while the "ETV" is zooming out and stops alongside the "E" and ends before the "V". Once everything is in place, the whole logo flashes yellow and the letters of the "ETV" are now outlined with yellow.
FX: The flashing, zooming, and turning of the letters.
Cheesy Factor: Another logo where it's hard to tell if it's a model or CGI. If it is CGI, it was very impressive (for the time).
Music: A dramatic violin and drum fanfare.
Availability: Extinct, as this is only intact on older prints of Write Right, as far as we know.
Scare Factor: Medium to high; the darkness and very dramatic music may be unsettling, intense, or even scary to younger kids, espically without a parent.
Mississippi Public Broadcasting
(2005- )
Nickname: "M of Stairs"
Logo: On a black background, we see a 3-D "M" with white lines that look like stairs. Under the "M" is "Mississippi Public Broadcasting".
FX: None; it's a still logo.
Music: None, in other cases the end theme.
Availability: Seen on "Between the Lions" from 2005-present.
Scare Factor: None.
