Mascot Pictures

Written, Compiled and Logo Pictures by Eric S.

Background: This small movie production company was established in 1927 by Nat Levine to produce film serials and B-westerns, merging after with Consolidated Film and Monogram Pictures to form the larger Republic Pictures (a.k.a. Republic Entertainment, Inc.) in 1935.

(1927-1935)

Nicknames: ''That Ripoff of the MGM/Universal Logos'', ''Tiger '27'', "Tiger From Hell"
Mascot Pictures - CLG Wiki

Logo: On a cloudy background, we see a model of planet earth, with a tiger on it. Then under it we see the words "MASCOT PICTURES", rounding the globe. The tiger roars twice.

FX/Cheesy Factor
: The letters moving, pretty hi-tech for its time, but it's still cheesy.

Music/Sounds: The tiger roaring.

Availability: Can be seen on Mascot releases from its time. Was restored back in 1988 on the movie The Phantom Empire for TV as a syndication package.

Scare factor: Medium; people who don't like close-up aggressive tigers won't like this logo.
