1st (known, maybe only) Logo
(1980s)

Nickname: "Futuristic Pink", "Spacey Synth"
Logo: On a black background, we see two copies of the Mariann Video logo, which is in a futuristic font and colored dark pink. One zooms toward us while another zooms away from us. Once they meet in the center and join together, the two logos turn into an outline, and a yellow light on the logo twirls around for a bit, then settles into place, creating a trail for the logo, one part shooting downward from the top portion of the screen, the other shooting upward from the bottom portion of the screen, creating a smaller version of the logo that wipes itself in on both sides, then, we fade out.

FX: The zoom out, the light trail... not too bad for '80s computer graphics. Also, this might be the second-longest running logo I've seen behind Australia's PBV Distribution (which comes in at about 45 seconds)-- this clocks in at about 30 seconds!

Music/Sounds: It begins with a burbly synth sounder, followed by a catchy disco tune (while the burbles can still be heard), then four bells, and four more synthesizer notes.

Availability: On PAL tapes in Sweden. Might be extinct though, with all those Region 2 DVDs becoming popular in Europe. ;-)

Scare Factor: Medium to high for the dark background, animation, and music, for those who haven't seen it.
