Logo descriptions by V of Doom
Logo captures by Eric S.
(1985-1990)
Nickname: “The Walls”
Logo: On a background of two sets of moving purple lines, a bright flash appears, bringing the word “Magnum”, colored blue, and in a slightly thinner “Frankfurter” font, zooming forward towards the viewer. Meanwhile, the word “Entertainment”, colored pink, and in cursive font (with the bottom line of the first “E” extended out) zooms out from the viewer underneath, then both texts settle in place.
FX: The zooming parts of the logo.
Music/Sounds: A triumphant synthesizer fanfare, similar to the one used in King World’s “Spotlights” and Camelot Entertainment Sales’ logos.
Availability: Like most of the logos for Lions Gate’s companies in the 1980's, this is a tough find. Check E-Bay or your mom-and-pop video store for this logo. A couple of places to start with are VHS issues of "NailNail Gun Massacre",Massacre, "RevengeRevenge of the RadioactioveRadioactive Reporter",Reporter, and "BadBad Taste".Taste.
Scare Factor: Low; the loud fanfare may startle some, especially with the FBI warning transition to this logo, but its harmless.
