1st Logo
(1977-1980)
Nickname: "Still Circular Mirrored M"
Logo: On a tan background, we see the "Mirrored M" (in two shades of brown) from the American Magnetic Video logo behind the words "MAGNETIC VIDEO" in a white futuristic font, set in the center of the screen.
FX/SFX/Cheesy Factor: None.
Music/Sounds: None.
Availability: Ultra rare; it might be spotted on eBay UK (or any country's website where PAL tapes are sold, like Australia and Germany). It was seen on The PAL release of The Making of Star Wars.
Scary Factor: Minimal; the font may jump some, but it's just boring.
2nd Logo
(1980-1981)
Nickname: "Magnetic Text"
Logo: On a black background, we see the words "Magnetic Video" in red text on the top of the screen. Below that, we see the copyright notice in yellow text. Suddenly, the screen changes on the same black background, and the text is changed to look something like this:
Magnetic Video
A Twentieth Century-Fox Company
with "Magnetic Video" in red on the top and A "Twentieth Century-Fox Company" below in yellow. The whole text is set in the middle of the screen. The text stays on the screen for a few seconds before it fades out.
FX/SFX: None; just the text changing.
Cheesy Factor: The text seems to have a glow to it, which makes it cheesy, but it's all right.
Music/Sounds: None.
Availability: Extremely rare; tapes with this logo might turn up on eBay UK (or other sites) sometime.
Scare Factor: Low; it's just another boring logo.
