1st Logo
(1997-1998)
Nickname: "The VeggieTales Logo"
Logo: On a white background, six letters zoomed out from the screen in each other, in 30 degrees. We reveal the words "LyrIck" in a crazy font with colors (green, yellow, purple and finally, red) then a green dot flies out and dot the "I" ala the Jim Henson Productions logo, and the word "STUDIOS" fades in on the bottom-right of "Lyrick", with a line above "STUDIOS". The words "Distributed by" fades in above the logo.
Variant: On some "Barney" tapes, we have no words "Distributed by", just the Lyrick Studios logo. This version is also rare.
FX: The logo zooms out and the "dot the I" sequence plays.
MusicMusic/Sounds: A dramatic synth tune with piano synths as the letters unscramble, then 2 low pitched synth notes as the green dit dots the "i" and a final synth note.
Availability: Appears on some "VeggieTales" tapes distributed by Lyrick Studios, and the version without "Distributed by" was seen on some "Barney" tapes produced by the company.
Scare Factor: None whatsoever.
2nd Logo

Nicknames: "The Ugly Duckling", "The Hand Poking Out of the Water", "Lyrick Studios 1998"
Logo: On a water course scene background, we now see an ugly duckling then a water scene disappears to reveal a night sky as a hand poking out of the water which the hand then disappearing, causing ripples, and the name "Lyrick" to appear (think the Imagine Entertainment logo). "Lyrick" was revealed in the same font as the first logo, and "STUDIOS" appears underneath the logo with a line above the word "STUDIOS". The words "Distributed by" fades in above the logo after the logo is formed.
Variations:
Still Shot?Variant: There is a still version of the logo in which the words "Distributed by" appeared above the Lyrick Studios logo. No animation, music, ugly duckling, or a hand poking out of the hand are present. Just the Lyrick Studios logo which is already formed.
FX: A scene of an ugly duckling and the hand poking out of the water.
MusicMusic/Sounds: A beautiful drama tune riff.
Availability: Usually preserved on "VeggieTales" tapes. Also seen on some "Barney" tapes, as well as the short-lived 1998 Polygram live-action family film "Barney's Great Adventure: The Movie".
