Background: Mendelson/Melendez Productions was a production company founded as a partnership between animator Bill Melendez, and executive producer Lee Mendelson.


1st Logo
(1965-2002)

Logo: We only see an on-screen text reading "A Lee Mendelson/Bill Melendez Production".

Variant: On It's Magic, Charlie Brown, the text falls as Snoopy and Woodstock fears after the cat cut his doghouse in half.

FX/SFX: None. But on It's Magic, Charlie Brown, the text falling.

Music/Sounds: Usually the intro of a movie, and the outro of a TV special or a TV show.

Availability: Can be found on Peanuts TV shows such as The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show and This is America, Charlie Brown, as well as Peanuts TV specials. Also seen on all four Peanuts feature films, barring 2015's The Peanuts Movie.Blue Sky Studios

Nickname: "The Pencil"

Logo: We see a red pencil on a white background. Surrounding the pencil are the words "A Mendelson-Melendez Production" in a childish font.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: ABC's generic theme. But on the DVD release, just the closing theme of the special

Availability: Seen on A Charlie Brown Valentine on ABC reruns as well on the DVD release of special.

3rd Logo
(2002-2006)

Nickname: "The Blue Paintbrush"

Logo: We see a paintbrush on a white (or black) background, surrounded by a circular blue stroke around it. It is also surrounded by the words "MENDELSON" on the left of it, and "MELENDEZ" on the right, with the paintbrush serving as a slash.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme of the special. ABC airings instead use either a generic jingle or an announcer plugging a show following the special.

Availability: Can be seen on Charlie Brown's Christmas Tales, I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown and He's A Bully, Charlie Brown.
