Background: Jester Interactive is a Welsh gaming company set up in 1998.
(Dates Unknown)
Logo: On the floor of an dark room, we see a treasure chest. Suddenly, a glowing ball of light or some kind comes out and hovers over to a creepy-looking court jester dressed in purple and yellow clothing (hat-bell and all) who is asleep. Talking in squaky gibberish, it wakes the jester up on the start, the camera follows the ball around the Jester (who looks like we are in some kind of filming studio with a projecter running in the background) simply watches in wonder. Then, the sinister-looking Jester grumbles darkly at the ball while it hovers around still talking gibberbish. The camera then zooms to the Jester as the ball stops moving in front of him. Then the Jester jerks his head back giving out an loud, evil sounding laugh then suddenly sneezes, sending the ball flying away screaming. All of a sudden, for no apparant reason whatosever, the Jester starts shaking as lights beam out his face. What follows is that the Jester explodes into a load of bubbles with only his white eyes remaining. The eyes than run down the screen while the Jester's hat slowly floats down as we see the now empty projector studio fading out to a black background to reveal the Jester Interactive Logo (a glaring white eyes with the yellow and purple hat with styled writing "Jester" below) inside a white outline. The website adress,
www.jesterinteractive.com is positioned below.
FX: Quite impressive computer-game style CGI animations with good graphic character design. The fading screen to the logo is very clean. The running time of this logo is 23 seconds, rather too long as a thought-out storyline for a simple company logo and will get tedious and annoying after a while.
Music/Sounds: Ominous piano theme with chords and synth but mainly the gibberish and grunting rather takes up much of the logo's sounds. At the end, a large sinister laugh is heard.
Availability: Scarce. The only game that I know features this is "MTV Music Generator 2" from 2001. So check other Jester Interactive games for this logo sequence as the Jester corporate logo is still current.
Scare Factor: Median to High. The sinister Jester, the darkness of the logo and the unexplained explosion will certainly scare more than a few. However, this logo will also be more confusing than scary to many viewers.
