Hemdale Home Video
Logo description by kidinbed
Logo capture by Bob Fish
Video capture by ThatLogoDude
Background: Hemdale Home Video was the Hemdale Pictures Corporation video releasing arm. In reality, Hemdale never had a home video arm until 1991. Most of their films were released by Thorn-EMI Video (which later became HBO Video) and sometimes, Vestron, Embassy, and Nelson. Hemdale Home Video was closed in 1995 with Hemdale's demise.
(1991-1995)

Nicknames: "Golden Hemdale", "Majestic Hemdale", "Gold Bars of Doom"
Logo: On a black background, we see gold bars zooming out quickly. The gold bars turn, and we see the words:
A gold bar flies and crashes into the space where the "H" and "E" and the byline are separated.
FX: Everything. This is pretty good CGI for the time, but...
Cheesy Factor: When the gold bar flies, you can see it protrude a little. Also, there is visible pixelization when the gold bars zoom out.
Music/Sounds: A sudden synth, followed by whooshes and a drum.
Availability: Very rare; seen on Little Nemo's Adventures in Slumberland, The Princess and the Goblin, and the home video reprints of The Terminator and Hoosiers. All these videos are out of print.
Scare Factor: Medium bordering on high; the sudden synth and ominous nature of the logo are bound to scare some.

Because my copy is from Hemdale and it only starts off with the Hemdale Film Corporation logo.
Do you find this valuable?
