Logo: On a black background, we see pieces of lettering reflecting the sky. Then the pieces join together and forms the HBO logo in shaded orange, with "PICTURES" in dark red with the R and the U connected. Under it are five blue lines under. The logo shines.

FX: Just good '80s computer animation.

Music/Sounds: Silent.

Availability: Appeared on HBO films during the period.

Scare Factor: Low.




2nd (known) logo
(1993?-1997?)

Logo: On a dark blue and yellow shaded background, we see some drops, like it's raining, then the background changes colour into black and appears a blue HBO logo above one horizontal lines. Under it you can read "PICTURES", also in blue, and the U and the R are connected, like the United Artists logo. Under "PICTURES" there are four horizontal lines, from the biggest to the smallest. The logo shines twice and disappears.

FX: The drops, the shining.

Music/Sounds: A dreamy and relaxing jingle.
